Recording and pre-/post-production studios must have absolute sound isolation between key functional areas, such as mixing rooms and recording studios, with perfect acoustic environments inside. Then, the employees, talent, and actors must be able to communicate clearly without creating any ambient noise. These are just some of the requirements today’s studios must have to produce the purest audio soundtrack and deliver the best possible listener experience. And, to pull it off, studios turn to a recording studio contractor like Imbuia.
Project Summary
Recently, we built the third Los Angeles-area Vaudeville Productions studio in Culver City, delivering a pristine, sound-isolated, and acoustically perfect recording environment. As we did with the other Vaudeville Studios we built in Burbank and West Hollywood, we accomplished this by using:
- Triple-pane, condensation-controlled windows between mixing and recording areas
- Totally sealed and soundproofed rooms, featuring sand-filled raised floors and indirect cable and wiring
- Specially angled vertical surfaces with acoustic panels and ceilings in recording rooms and elsewhere
- Double-wall construction featuring rock wool insulation and air gaps between rooms
- Air-tight seals around the self-closing double-door airlock-style entrances to critical areas
- Specially dampened and controlled HVAC systems
In addition to the recording and mixing areas, we built modular workspaces for animation specialists, sophisticated screening rooms (also with 100% sound isolation), secure server rooms for intellectual property protection, and all the ancillary areas required for employee and visitor comfort and convenience, including:
- Bathrooms
- Break areas
- ADA required features
- Lobbies, waiting rooms
- Fire and life safety systems
- Private offices and open plan workstations
- Advanced security to protect the data and facilities of the studio
Finally, we blended all the technical sophistication into a visually and aesthetically stunning facility, suitable for welcoming and housing high-level decision-makers from the entertainment industry.
